Ventless gas fireplaces may be like a vented gas log set or like a direct vent insert in style.  This type of gas fireplace offers an efficient heating solution, capable of being installed in various locations without the need for a chimney or external venting.  These fireplaces utilize an oxygen depletion sensor (ODS) to ensure optimal and safe operation.   Annual professional service is crucial for a ventless gas fireplace.  Some units may require more frequent service.

Direct Vent Gas Fireplaces (including Linear/Contemporary):

Direct vent gas fireplaces offer a safe and highly efficient heating solution, utilizing a sealed combustion system that vents exhaust directly outside through a horizontal or vertical pipe. A direct vent gas fireplace built-in is a popular choice when renovating or adding an addition to the home.  The location of the new gas fireplace direct vent unit can be selected as the fireplace unit is framed and venting is normally installed horizontally behind the unit or vertically above (based on manufacturer’s installation instructions).   When converting a wood-burning fireplace to a gas fireplace, a direct vent insert slides into the existing masonry firebox and the venting is routed through the existing chimney.

Our gas fireplace maintenance service includes a comprehensive inspection, cleaning, tune-up, and minor adjustments for your gas fireplace.

Exact services performed may vary depending on the fireplace type, make and model, manufacturer's instruction, installation, prior service and repair, or other factors.

Inspection: Visual inspection of firebox, burner, gas fuel components, electronic modules, wiring, vent termination, glass panel and seal.  A gas leak check is performed for any gas connections in the gas fireplace. Carbon monoxide levels assessed and recorded.  Verify fireplace configuration and set-up.

Cleaning: Firebox, control compartment, glass panels or doors, logs are cleaned.  If applicable to the fireplace type, fireplace media (sand, lava rocks, or embers) may be redistributed, topped off or replenished.

Servicing/tune-up/adjustment: Gas valve, pilot assembly, air shutter, blowers/fans, remote control, control modules, electronic components are cleaned, serviced, and adjusted as necessary.  Run test is performed to ensure the fireplace operates as designed.

Additional charge applies for supplementary services such as replacement parts, additional cleaning, extensive repairs, or other work required that is beyond the normal scope of the manufacturer's annual maintenance service.  Your technician will discuss at the time of your appointment if additional services are required.

Our gas fireplace service price starts at $350.00 per fireplace. This service is recommended annually by the fireplace manufacturers.

Your service price provided at the time is an estimate.  Additional charges may apply for units with multiple glass sides, specialty units, outdoor firepits, services required that are beyond the standard manufacturer recommended service, or fireplaces that have not been maintained or serviced regularly.  

If your gas fireplace is inoperable or in need of repair, price will vary depending on what is required to get your gas fireplace in working order.

We prefer to offer discounts to everyone when they are available - not just military or first responders. 

During our off season in spring and summer, we run various offers though over the past few years, we have tried to keep pricing constant and have even decreased it.  This has limited our discount opportunities. 

First time customers may turn away when they realize we may or may not include a discount.  Usually first time customers are "never have serviced" customers.  We discovered the one and done.  Issue solved.  Fireplace looks amazing. And the customer does not return...until there is an issue.

Our best discounts are reserved for our loyal customers who service year after year.  And we  also offer amazing deals to those we service the prior year or two - to keep their units maintained and looking fine!

We do not offer discounts during the winter season.  October to January is especially busy.  Premium pricing will be in effect during the holidays.  We offer stand-by appointments, earlier date availbility, after normal business hours, scheduling convenience (some opportunities are at an additional charge and not available in all areas).

Many gas fireplaces can average 10-20 or more years, provided the unit was installed properly as well as serviced annually as per manufacturer’s instructions.  While this seems to be a large range for the “average”, many factors contribute to the number of useful years of the unit.  The following is a partial list of factors that may affect gas fireplace longevity: improper installation, quality of the unit, type of gas fireplace and its components, usage, fuel type, service history, environmental conditions, unresolved operation issue, an unqualified service provider, reengineering the system or unit, using non-OEM parts or incorrect parts.

We find most customers contact us when there is an issue/problem with operating the gas fieplace, another service provider was not able to fix the issue, or the DIY attempt did not go as planned.  Wammoth Services' technicians are qualified gas fireplace experts with over a decade of experiance.  While the majority of our services will result in improved operational performance and aesthitics for your gas fireplace, it is imperartive to recognize the importance of the manufacturer's recommended annual maintenance service for your gas fireplace and the consequences of failing to maintain your gas fireplace every year.  A gas fireplace may require additional service calls after an initial service appointment, especially if the gas fireplace has not been maintained annually per the manufacturer's recommentation or if the unit was not installed properly.

We are unable to provide definitive assurance that all will be fine when we have never seen nor serviced your 15 year old gas fireplace.

We do not provide a guarantee or warranty on service/repairs for gas fireplaces that we did not installed or units that have not been maintained annually per manufacturer's instructions. 

Additional services, diagnostics, repairs, or complete replacement of the fireplace may be necessary.  

We primarily service the Northern Virginia area.  We do not service Maryland or the District of Columbia and have no plans to expand to these areas.  We have expanded a bit west, along the 66 corridor since Ryan, our technician, has moved to that area.
